Devices

The Devices section allows administrators to manage devices efficiently. This includes adding new devices, updating device information. This guide will walk you through the steps to effectively manage your devices.

Adding a New Device

Follow below steps to add a new device:

1. Open the new device form

   • Go to the Settings option and select the Devices tab.
   • Click on the “+” sign on right bottom corner to open the form for adding a new device. You can also click on the “+” sign on the right side of the device search window on the home page.

2. Fill Device details Fill the necessary device details like

   • Device Name
   • Device IMEI/ID number
   • Device model

3. Additional Options:

   • Category : Use to select the vehicle type such as car, bus, motorcycle etc.
   • Contact and Phone : Fill the contact name and phone number of the user.
   • Group : Assign the device to a specific group, if applicable.
   • Expiration : Set an expiration date for the device subscription (default is 01-01-2099).
   • Route Line Colour : Choose a colour for the route line representation of the moving vehicle.
   • Disabled : A check on this box will disable the device temporarily.
   • Buzzer : Use to enable or disable the buzzer attached with the device.
   • Door Lock : Use to enable or disable the door lock remotely through the application.
   • Immobilizer : Use to enable or disable the immobilizer. This feature enables the user to stop the vehicle engine remotely through the application for safety reasons. The vehicle will not be started until it is enabled to mobilize through the app.
   • National Speed Limit : Use to enable or disable speed limit notification. These notifications appear when the vehicle violates the national speed limits.
   • Camera Info : Use to enable or disable dashcam installed on the vehicle and assign channels if applicable.
   • Vehicle Info : Fill the vehicle registration number details.
   • Fuel Info : Fill the vehicle’s fuel related details like Fuel type, Fuel price, Fuel capacity, Vehicle mileage.
   • SIM Info : Fill the details of the SIM used in the device like SIM number, SIM ID, operator name and SIM activation/expiry date.
   • Private Mode : Check it to disable the alerts/notifications from the vehicle for a selected duration in case if the vehicle is under maintenance or not in use.
   • Device Image : You can upload the device/vehicle image here.
   • Attributes : Set the attributes from the given list if required such as “Maximum Speed Limit” can be used to get speed violation alert.

4. Save the Device :

   • Click on the Save button to add the new device or click Cancel button to cancel.

• Device Configuration Form : Description : This image shows the form used to configure a new device, including fields for device details.

Managing Existing Devices

The Devices tab in Settings displays all device related information like Vehicle Registration Number, IMEI number, Model, Phone, Expiration, Group and below available actions etc.

1. Edit Device Details

   • Click the Edit icon in the Actions column to update any of the Device information.

2. Delete Device

   • Click the Delete icon in the Actions column to permanently remove a Device.

3. Connections:

   • Click the Connections icon to assign the geofence, notification, driver, maintenance, routes to the Device.
